Tank Parameters all over the place

I would leave it in for a day and test it. You can always test it everyday for a couple of days to see if there are any changes.

And if you really wanted to confirm the rocks leech phosphate, you can put rock in a bucket with fresh salt water and mix the water. Test the water for phos.

A new beautiful addition to the tank. Might be the last one. It is the biggest fish in the tank, measuring about 4”.

From what I’ve read, Triton supplements trace elements rather than acting like a part C which ESV does. However, you still might have to dose individual traces depending on what coral you have and how big they are. I think I’ll be happy regardless since traces are still being dosed.

No, it is basically the Triton core additives for tanks without a refugium. It still contains the major, minor, and trace elements — just less trace elements because the lack of a refugium. I got the Triton Flex additives so I can choose to use it as a 2-part rather than a 3 or 4-part.

Most of the acros I added were in November. I wish I added more acros from the start. I will be switching from ESV to Triton "Others" next month as I want to incorporate an additive with elevated trace elements. I had success with Triton additives on my Cade tank. Parameters now: Nitrate...

Tank is 11 months old. Added a Merlin's Staff from DBTC and a newly cut frag of PC Rainbow from a local reefer. Traded a hammer for WWC Yellow Tips. @MichaelB thanks. Cotton Candy Torch. Seems to be splitting into 3 heads. Todd's Torch. Head count has doubled. Green Slimer...

    Dealing with lyngbya

I would try to dose silicates to have your diatoms explode. It might do something.

I forgot to add that you also need to perform water changes if you are dosing 2-part as your salinity will increase over time.

It is true that it won't restore traces or fully export your nutrients. Traces have to be supplemented and nutrients rely on other methods for export. However, it still dilutes possible toxins, metals, and other things that we don't test for or know about.

Tank Parameters all over the place

I do a 3 gallon water change daily on my 209 gallon system with AWC. It has helped kept my tank stable. I also siphon out detritus like once a month. I think once you have a handle on your nutrients, you should implement something like this.

    Banded Urchin

I had this urchin for like 3-4 years, but I realized he got too big for my tank. I would recommend him in a 200+ gallon tank. Located in Sunnyvale.

It seems like you’ll be doing a lot of things others have suggested. I would just feed less and perform routine water changes. I was able to control my nutrients without chemical intervention.

Tank Parameters all over the place

It seems like you don’t have enough nutrient export to support the amount of food you are feeding. To me, the high nitrate is a red flag in a new tank. It might be okay in a thriving reef with a lot of coral mass, but not in a tank with a few frags. For phosphates, I’m not too sure. My tank...

    Dealing with lyngbya

Someone from R2R used silicate dosing to help with lyngbya. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/silicate-dosing-for-reef-tanks.1129689/
