Need your help on how to protect a brand new hardwood floor!

If it's a laminate "hardwood" floor it's definitely not waterproof

    UNS-60S Shallow planted tank

Thanks! It’s taking the sting out of the 112g breakdown. A little bit anyway. Here’s more of a top down look.

    UNS-60S Shallow planted tank

Still enjoying one tank! Yup I need to find a better home for the Mayaca fluvialatus sitting in front. The bucephelandra fit in so we’ll with the rock.

Some of my euphilias are desintegrating

Any antibiotic like Cipro is not a one time dip. You’ll need to do a full course just like we humans do when using antibiotics. I did it for for 5-6 days at lights out whether in tank or dipping. I have enough for you if you’d like to pick it up.

    New to Bay Area

Welcome! This is a great place to be and I truly think you'll enjoy it. I'm exiting the hobby myself atm and breaking down my 112g but I'll vouch for this group of scallywag's!

    Innovative Marine 112 INT build

It’s a number of things factoring in to this. Im 10 mins from work with reasonable rent that would go up at least $300/m with no tanks at all. Removing the tank hopefully removes the issues.

    power strip discussion

Kasa power strips. Robust scheduling options and electrical monitoring per plug. I’ve got 3 and they’ve worked well minus a couple instances of the timer glitching and turning my lights in the middle of the night. They never turned anyone off but I had my pumps on a GHL strip for insurance.

    Innovative Marine 112 INT build

He provided me with a couple kill a watt units and they were on for about 30 hrs but this morning arbitrarily decided to make what I felt was an unacceptable demand. In that time they tallied about $175 a month in costs. It's just too much of a contentious issue so I decided to exit the hobby...

    Innovative Marine 112 INT build

Sad day. Looks like this tank is going to have to go. Electrical usage, shared PG&E, landlord, yada yada. Either that or I need to find an in-law cottage that allows tanks, has an industrial solar farm, and a reefer landlord.

Tang Police?! Asking for a "Friend"

I have kept Kole or Tomini tangs in a 36” 69g and they didn’t seem to be stressed about it. The one that was in that tank is now in a 112g and hasn’t seemed to have grown much at all since. It’s all about them having enough room to swim laterally vs water volume. A shallow 4’ frag flat is better...

    Crazy winds- Backup power check

It’s bad here in San Ramon too. At least one huge tree down and branches all over the roads. Stay safe!

Opinions on Philips CoralCare gen2 lights?

Check out these par numbers on a 6’x6’ area of a large tank. 9 x 6’ Quanta Pros 36” above the bottom of the tank

    UNS-60S Shallow planted tank

Im going to be a bit honest here, this tank has been getting most of my attention lately. A couple friends came through like rock stars with plant clippings from their tanks and a shipment from Buceplant.com also arrived. I was also invited to a group order for some of the more rare plant...

How do you mix your saltwater?

44g brute can filled with RODI, mag drive pump and heater. Another 44g brute next to it for just RODI.

Opinions on Philips CoralCare gen2 lights?

They’re significantly more powerful than Orphek bars. Easily capable of being main lights on tanks sub 28-30” deep.

Opinions on Philips CoralCare gen2 lights?

6x36” Quanta Pro bars might be able to handle the job for you at $960. Or 3-4x6’ bars. I’ve got 3 Meso Blue sitting right now if you want to borrow and test PAR. All Meso Blue wouldn’t be all I’d run tho. 2 Reef Crest & 4 Meso Blue. No fans. They run very cool and spectrum is excellent.
