Dosing Lanthanum and vodka low ph.

Vodka or Vinegar will drop pH temporarily. I dose Vodka as well and have seen slight drop in the pH but not as drastic as yours. Also 50 ml sounds like a lot, did you start with 50ml or reach there gradually? Here is the guide I am using: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/index.php

    LED lighting

My two cents: like others have said first step would be to remove all algae in your DT. Note GHA / turf algae / any other algae will outcompete macro algae, so reactor will be useless till you have DT full of algae. Your PO4 readings are 0 but it won’t starve this form of algae because it...

Need help to identify critters found in Chaeto

I do have a Yellow Corris (Halichoeres chrysus) in DT, but I really want to minimize any undesirables even if that means collateral damage of the good ones

Need help to identify critters found in Chaeto

Thanks, looks like the snail is a keeper will dump it in DT after some more observation. Will inspect the chaeto more thoroughly, I like the idea of fresh water dip.

Need help to identify critters found in Chaeto

Folks please help me identify these critters: 1. Super creepy snail or nudibranch 2. Are these the dreaded flat worms? Came along with Chaeto, in my quarantine tank. Want to know if I should just toss the chaeto out. Thanks in advance!

    Baby Rockflower or Majano Anemone?

Well, I added several coral frags in last few weeks (I don’t QT corals I dip add them after 2 weeks of observation in frag tank). When I found these tiny anemones I researched Majanos they look quite similar.

    Baby Rockflower or Majano Anemone?

I can’t tell from the looks of it if I should grow it or discard. Some info: I have a pair of Rockflowers. I observed few more of these tiny anemones popped up on sand in low flow area. Discovered a couple of them a month back, right now it’s around 8-9 in the tank mostly on sand. Photos:

    Cycling Coral First

Did this with my current build, although the dry rock I used were cooking for 2 months along with my 2 year old live rocks from previous tank. New tank cycled instantly and I added Softies on Day1. What corals do is basically bring additional biome and bacteria that are essential. Tank is...
