AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

Fair, but I meant the equivalent of getting the dashboards setup with text commands, and having it do the install for you

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

If I get ahold of an apex I'll see if I can do the same there. I think these are a lot more accessible than you think. Also the AIs can give you tailored, step by step, guidance on how to do it! The main challenge is getting it access to your local network, but I'm sure someone is building a...

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

I now have AI control of my Hydros! Hydros only allows access through their browser and mobile apps. That's somewhat annoying to me because I can't integrate it with any of my other things at home. Hydros doesn't expose any sort of API for people to use. That however doesn't turn out to be a...

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

I let it go to town on my tank dashboards too. Here's what it came up with: This is way better than the ugly random list I previously had. Also super informative now.

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

I am going further and further down the AI deep end. Folks really need to try all the latest and greatest stuff, it is incredibly powerful right now. Far more than it was before. As an aside, I think the "Something Big Is Happening" post is one of the clearest discussions of what's going on...

Does anyone understand how to use a Hydros as a AWC?

Let me see if I can figure out how to have an apex directly control the 12v motors I have. I already setup those, so I'd rather not have to start over. Worst case I guess I switch to control it from 12v power adapters plugged into the EB. Do you have a level sensor and/or a temp sensor? I have...

Does anyone understand how to use a Hydros as a AWC?

I should post this as a question on a Hydros forum, but I want to rant first. I kinda hate this thing. I like aspects of it, but overall I just find the device pretty disappointing. It goes so far out of its way to be easy, that it makes things more complicated than they already are (simple <>...

    SupraSaltyReefer's TankNTangAPalooza

Oh man, this just gave me the idea of moving my refugium outside and letting sunlight cover it. Obviously need to prevent bugs and rain getting in, but would be free light. I'd been thinking of doing such a thing to get my protein skimmer outside of my living room, but doing the fuge too would...

My first Fish copper Qt treatment

Note that on a given electrical circuit, you only need one GFCI not one per outlet. In most places that means one per room, however it has to be near the first one. You don't really want multiple, because debugging what tripped can be a nightmare. I'm also unclear if having multiple leads to...

Chipped glass. What do I do?

Might help to have a full context picture so the location can be seen better. That being said, if the question is "would this be super safe to put in a living space", having a compromised seal on the bottom of a tank seems like a non-optimal situation. Usually convos about chipping have the...

    Tank size?

Location? I'm interested in the Monti, though distance would affect getting some.

My first Fish copper Qt treatment

Titanium grounding probes require you to have a grounded (3 prong) outlet which is connected to a properly grounded circuit. My guess is you're connecting your power strips to a 2 prong outlet via an adapter, and then connecting all your 3 prong power cords to the power strip? In that case the...

    Richie's Reefer 500

Good question. I'm not really sure. Yellowing I think the answer is carbon. Particles the answer is some sort of mechanical filtration, including a sump full of chaeto. Bubbles, more bubble breaks before the skimmer water hits the return. Water changes always help just about everything!

    Richie's Reefer 500

Flash back to my original reef tank. This was around February 2008. T5 lights. Acrylic. Sump, drained to by in tank piping. No idea why I had the heaters in the display. Big wall of rocks, but I used some fiberglass rods to get a couple pedestal style pieces together.

    Willie’s Last Aquarium Build

Fair, but in this context the full comparison is success rate of someone who does it as a full time job versus others. My assumption is the survival and successful irradication rates he has is higher than someone doing a big quarantine for the first time.

    Willie’s Last Aquarium Build

I would call around, such as Kenny at high tide, and see if you can get the QT done for you as part of a next round of getting fish in. No idea if he/someone would do that, but even if they charge a bunch for it, it'll likely be cheaper than repeatedly changing upwards of 127gallons of saltwater...

    DBTC RRC Goldenrod Anacropora

I'd love to get a piece. I'd put it in my display since my frag tank has monti eating nudis. Though my montis in there grow like crazy because of that wrasse and params.

    Ammonia

How much all in one did you use, and how much ammonia? Ammonia stalling when you used the bottle bac and when seeded with existing rocks seems unexpected. No chance you dumped a crap ton of ammonia in there? Additionally are you confident in your ammonia reading? Salifert hopefully is reliable...

    SupraSaltyReefer's TankNTangAPalooza

I kept a road bike in my garage, near my saltwater mixing station. My experience is that fixie / single speed is gonna have a rekt chain and bearings :). Also LOL do you have the LEDs mounted through the front wheel, :).
