Muriatic like RHF works well. Some salts lose alk too as they continue to mix (especially if pCO2 is low during a fresh not super well mixed batch, or if there's some microbial growth).

That's assuming your tank has a healthy microbiome and isn't full of pathogenic bacteria. You could just as likely trigger dysbiosis on a perfectly healthy coral and its holobiont. Definitely read a lot of the new articles being posted in the last couple years...

I just use Reef Primer. I'd rather not kill off and the beneficial bacteria that live in around the corals when I get them in.

I thought so too but they were green gray on their backs. Not white. I've had that chaeto for 15 years so don't remember where it came from originally. None in the display. But by morphology it does look similar to the jelly bean slugs, maybe the same family.

I have literally no idea what this is. I thought it had a hard shell and eye spots then it started moving and elongated with antennae.

I think @BAYMAC said the trick was to soak it in tank water for a bit before feeding. @artie if you're worried about it not eating you can try masstick in an old clam shell or frozen clams.
