So friggen cute. Do they just clip on? This is a whole new rabbit hole to dive into. TIL the urchins hold on to it themselves, as protection. And people also 3d print hermit crab shells?!

You got it. It likes to come back when the co2 tanks run out. It accumulates on the outflow nozzle like a black beard, BBAlgae. Usually use hydrogen peroxide, but fish think I’m feeding them. This seems like a real spot treatment solution.

Nice. Think it can tackle BBA? Re button: I can tell you that is a momentary button in order to get UL/RU/EU approval to make that light, they had to make some sort of fail safe to prevent eye exposure (and stupid kids). Also why they send the orange glasses.

No. Was passed along by a friend. It’s a ~$4k printer with materials for $1k. Huge flip opportunity I’m not a fan of the stratasys fdm’s. They have not great seam quality and really don’t print dimensionally well. Use them a lot at work.

Lab grade because you can put HF acid in it and it won’t melt thru. Polystyrene is also clear, and what betta cups are ETA: I buy lots of stuff from TAP for work. Place is the beez kneez

Polypropylene is the least reactive plastic. Most jars you’ll find are PET or Polystyrene. Can never go wrong with inert glass, with high DOC (internal strength) ETA: sealed glass jars are actually quite strong

What kind of fancy jars are those?

Most of that is supports. You want to print it flat on the bed. Can you make the legs separate? Place that red base on the bed? This shouldn’t be more than 17g of material ETA: .028kg*$20 is more around $0.56

Overture filaments are cost effective and middle road quality. I use all of them. PETg for long term water or chemical exposure. There are specialty filaments for all sorts of purposes.

Another way to save on filament is to print with no top or bottom infill. Infill and perimeter only. Sometimes you can still print down to 5% and connect all the features

Impressive you got it to stand and print that high. There isn’t anything other than reorientation or redesign. Redesign: make it oblong or rectangular; make it two pieces Reorient: place that tower on the build plate Settings: dry filament, slower speed at the top, lower fan speed
