    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Got my shipment from BC today and pretty happy with what I got. I wasn't able to get to it till after work, so my time getting them dipped, inspected, and in the tank was limited to only a couple hours with the lights on. When one of my sons was young, he would ask is to buy him these "blind...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I should have done this, looking back on it in hindsight...probably would have save me on some of the aggression issues and watching the eventual transition would have been cool.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Second QT batch done. Anthias are hard as hell to keep from killing each other. I started with 1 male blue eye lyretail and 9 females. In addition to these I threw in a royal gamma and a midas blenny. First couple days, everything was fine...fish eating and all getting along. By day 3, the...

    Trident NP - experiences?

First week of use I went through x4 of each reagent. I've been performing spot checks weekly just to see how inline the readings are and it's been pretty consistent, so I've been more trusting of the readings it produces. We'll see how it goes after the first reagent change. Hopefully it stays...

How about I pick you up in my Trans Am? We can stop by mcdonalds and eat out of Styrofoam containers then drop by Woolworths and Emporium Capwell to pick up some Members Only jackets to get the BAR logo printed on.. Forewarning tho, the only cassette I own is Ambrosia, so the whole way we're...

Or you can send a raven...as far as the poll, we'll be looking up at the old bell tower for the candel light...one if by land, two if by sea

    Trident NP - experiences?

Agreed. But given that I'd probably be using the hanna checker for both at an annual cost of around $150, I see it as paying to not have to do it myself. Is it as accurate as I'd like? IMO, no...but I'm not running it for accuracy, I bought it to look at the trends, especially while my system...

    Trident NP - experiences?

It's ~$60 for a 2 month supply of both....so roughly a dollar a day for daily test of both parameters on the NP

    Trident NP - experiences?

Hey Josh..I'm about half way through my first set of reagents and have recently gotten to the point where I'm finding the readings from the NP useful. The first couple days NO3 seemed spot on but the PO4 low, a day after it was the opposite. After calibrating with tank water and using hanna...

    water changes and plants

Certain costal succulents can take being watered with salt water. Dudleyas and Pickle weed grows along the marshes locally right off the san mateo bridge. I've seen ot for sale at the greenhouses in half moon bay, but I can't imagine they'd take well to weekly watering tho, dependant on your WC...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

The Leng Sy cap is an awesome piece...hard to beat that purple rim and it fetched a high price tag when it first came out. I lost my colony to a battle with nudis back then. Then the setosa came out and that was all the rave lol.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Mann that colony is beautiful! Truly one of the pieces that had people early on aspiring to keep SPS. I'm glad these OG pieces are still around and we'll cared for. I have a batch of fish that will be going in soon that I know will have an impact on the nutrients, as well as a kalk pump coming...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I hope it's good stuff..its part of what I added to my tank early on lol. I will say tho, the quantity recieved is quite small. That one was the green plastic one right? I can't recall the brand, but starting the siphon everytime sucked....literally

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I think you may be thinking of IPSF. Very similar in products that Sally Jo offered, but they didn't have the iconic bonsai come out of their shop
