I think fresh cuts are good for contests, in Casey’s pic you can see all the new growth, which is a sign of a healthy system and good husbandry. I think this is an important part of judging a contest. The first week is always the hardest with fresh cuts, so everyone should start out the same...

I was also thinking the longer these sit in my system, say people picking up last minute are going to have a little advantage. Not trying to toot my own horn, but corals do very well in my system, new growth right away, colors coming out after a couple days. I think for contests, fresh cuts are...

    Derek's 225g - Stressing over Anemones

Hard to tell in the pic, but are the tentacles doing a “Curley Q” thing? It looks like they could be. Any other Euphylia look like this in the tank? If so it looks Like you have an undesirable bacteria in the water column. UV will help this! Chemiclean as well but that’s another ballgame.

    Sicce SDC pump experience?

I’m using 5 of the big sdc return pumps. They have been great! Almost 2 years running with zero issues. They are WiFi controllable and the app is ok. Being that I am at the shop everyday all day, I have yet to connect them to WiFi, lol. They are easy to adjust in the controller. Great...

2/18 Fragging Workshop at High Tide Aquatics

I don’t mind doing Saturdays, I just can’t have the whole front room blocked off on my busiest day of the week, lol. Once the weather is better, I have all the space we need out back, plenty of chairs and tables, set up canopy’s (when the sun is beating down) and we are golden, even have...

Toadstool - ok or has issues?

Sometimes large toadstools that get dragged will start dragging them selves. I have noticed that with larger toadstools, once you cut it, it irritates it, and then they start separating and dropping off self made frags. I think that’s what those white patches are. Let it be and do its thing...
