I was thinking same as @iani start with all fresh. Otherwise you may learn after burning quickly through the DI resins that new carbon blocks and membranes were needed further up stream from the DI.
Lack of food or something else taking up the same space would be my guesses. My astrina wax and wane in numbers and I wonder if my brittle stars are better at occupying the same space causing astrina numbers to decline. There must be pounds of brittles in my tank.
I love urchin and emerald crabs. I have 4-6 urchin in 75g. 2 bigger pincushions and 2-4 small tuxedo. In my experience Pincushions are workhorses while tuxedo get in tighter spots. The emerald can reach into tough spots and into stony corals.
