“Plumbing” question

I bought this 10 gallon and another 5 gallon container. I also bought the respective 1/2 and 3/4 caps separately through Amazon to close the fittings. However, my leak test noted that there is still water leaking out of the cap as they do not seem to seal properly. How do I get these properly sealed? I have no clue about these ‘plumbing’ topics tbh.

I would use silicone to seal it
If you need to take the cap off it’s not hard

Teflon tape also works on plastic if you’ve got any laying around.

3 wraps of Teflon tape and then use pipe dope. I use that combo on every threaded connection I make.
