I always try to place my BTA's in a place that is a) pleasing to me and b) pleasing to them. Good light, good flow, and a nice hole/niche/crack in the rock for their foot to feel secure. Usually if you can get that down, then they tend to stay there.
And there's no real way to get them to stay in one place that they don't like. They have been known (and I can vouch from personal exp) that if they really want to move, they'll just detach from the rock/glass and float around in the current.
But back to your question Levi, I don't think you need to do a light acclimation.
