Acclimating BTA

This is probably a silly question but..... here it goes. Should I need to acclimate a rose anemone that can from a tank high up under MH's into my tank under T5's? I wouldn't think so but thought I'd ask.

When you have it in the tank, it will move if it doesn't like its spot. Just make sure it attachs to the rock. I would just turn off the pump for a little while. A healthy BTA should attach to the rock very fast.

Levi, I will add that after you turn your pumps on expect it to keep moving until happy, the only way I have seen someone prevent this is by digging a hole in a DSB and putting the nem in a small bowl or cup within the sand bed, basicly forcing the nem not to be able to move around. my nems moved all around my old 20 trying to find the right spot, but when I redid my 120 I tried to mirror the condictions they liked before when placing them and they stayed put.

I always try to place my BTA's in a place that is a) pleasing to me and b) pleasing to them. Good light, good flow, and a nice hole/niche/crack in the rock for their foot to feel secure. Usually if you can get that down, then they tend to stay there.

And there's no real way to get them to stay in one place that they don't like. They have been known (and I can vouch from personal exp) that if they really want to move, they'll just detach from the rock/glass and float around in the current.

But back to your question Levi, I don't think you need to do a light acclimation.

Thanks guys. I was worried more about effects of the differences in lighting but it sounds like it'll be fine. I actually did pretty much everything suggested. I pulled him off the rock and placed him in a higher crack in my tank. I'll see if I can get a good pic in a little while.
