Aiptasia 1, Bergia 0

I order four Bergias from Salty Underground who by the way has great customer service. The four came in nice and healthy and made it through the acclimation. My fuge has an aiptasia outbreak so I threw them in there to keep away from my wrasses until there were enough of them to throw into the main. The third day I saw a string of eggs laid. After one week I saw a big one in the main tank. After that haven't seen any and the aiptasia is still there.

Has anyone had luck with these guys? Man they were expensive. I hope the babies hatch ok and go to town on these things.

Good luck with these.

I think they work best in a closed environment i.e. no fish and no pumps for them to get stuck in.

I think I've ordered them twice in the past, and never really seemed to get them to go to town on the aiptasia

Hiep - Try contacting AlGBlenny (Matt?) at ReefReady. He was trying to grow them out a while back and he may have some advice for you. He had them in a nano and they were laying eggs also. It was a pretty cool setup when I saw it but that was some time ago.

During Frank Burr's presentation he said if you release them all in one spot they return to that spot to "get it on". If you scatter them around they tend not to be able to find each other. I have no experience with them myself though

I have a Klens Butterfly I will sell you when he is done clening out my tank, you just need to house your acons, brians and candy canes in a temp tank becasue he is prone to nipping at them.

Hasnt hurt polys or zoas in fact cleaned aptasia from inside zoa colonies

Not always true and like I said this one went for the Acans, candy canes and open brain but NOTHING else

I never had problems with peppermints but they're hit and miss when it comes to eating aiptasia.

Doug, is Matt still breeding them. I remember him asking for aiptasia rocks for that purpose.

I left Matt a message so hope he still has some. Lisa Brown from Salty Underground contacted me to check up on me. She says I should give them some time. I think it is my fault for being a cheapo and only buying 4 adults. Hopefully they breed like crazy
