I figured it was a good idea to get this started, so here we go!
Tank-75g Drilled
Overflow-eshopps
Sump-eshopps
Lighting- Nicrew 100 gen 2 x2
Flow-Hygger gyre x1 + Hygger lite wave maker
Pump-Orlushy DC-9000
Protein skimmer- Red Sea Reefer 300
I found this tank used on FB after realizing that my Aquatop 40g cube was just not big enough for what my wife and I I were wanting to do.
I tried to learn as much as i could about the tank as it was well loved. The person I got it from had purchased it with the intention of upgrading in size, but for whatever reason did not get around to it and realized they wanted to keep the size they currently had.
This was the night I picked everything up. I snagged the tank, stand, sump, protein skinner, and some rock all for a whopping $150. I knew I was going to need to put some love into it and give it a good scrubbing!
After getter her all cleaned up, we figured it would be a good idea to re-seal the tank. I removed the old silicone and added new. My wife was the true hero here…there was a lot of trial and error and this was a fort for both of us. In the end I think it turned out great! We added water pressure test and then it was time to bring it inside!
The night before the actual “move” we added the sand and some rock. The idea behind this was so that the sand could settle before we added the rest of the water and everything from the other tank.
