Best Algae Eater for my tank??

Hey guys so im starting to see some algae growth in my tank and unfortunately i dont have any algae eaters in my tank!!! except for several snails. I was planning on picking up a lawnmower blenny but i had one before and he was pretty aggressive towards my other fishes. Im really leaning towards getting a yellow and blue tang but i only have a 75 gallon and i dont want any of my fishes to suffer due to space. Anyone have any suggestions? Which fish is a fatty when it comes of algae? BTW im not willing to spend an arm and a leg either. Thanks guys

What kind of algae is it?
If you can find a small yellow tang, say somewhere along the lines of 2-3" or so, it should be fine in your 75g -although it does depend a lot on how your rock work is laid out. You can have a very large tank, but provide minimal swimming, or cruising space depending on how your rocks are arranged. Eventually the tang will become too large for your 75g tank, at which time you can just catch it out and find it a new home. Or upgrade :)

yea that was wat i was thinking also because i saw a small little tang over at neptune about half dollar size which would be great for my tank. any other fishes that would be ok for my tank that doesnt get that big? how about a small yellow foxface?

A foxface would work too -they're great algae eaters;
but it would be helpful to know what kind of algae you're fighting :D

I'm with A_Lee. I recently purchased a foxface to replace a yellow tang that died after many years of dutiful service. The foxface is an impressive eater of bubble algae and others.

Make sure if you do get a foxface you go with a spot fox, they stay smaller than their counterparts.

+1 The Magnificant foxfaces are nice but get quite large. Foxfaces are a great all around algae picker.

Another +1 here for the foxface. the one I had cleaned out all the hair algae I had. Blennies didn't do much except look good & kiss the glass.

just some hair and starting to see bubble algae...seems like everyone is leaning towards a foxface so it looks like i will be looking around for one unless someone has one or knows a LFS that has one?

I have 2 of them in my 180 and have not had any problems. Had one in the previous tank too without a problem. Only think they nipped on is bubble algae!

cool sounds good...i just went to a lfs after work today and picked up what they named as a Pacific FoxFace...this guy is all gold and looks really cool they had one spot foxfaces and other rabbitfish but ther werent in the best condition so i chose this guy instead. i will try to get a pic of him when he comes out to nibble

Some have been known to nip at polyps ( zoanthids/palys/protopalys and so on ). Just like some tangs like blue tangs and others. I've seen people report this.

heres a picture of him...i love this guy already!!! hes mowin the lawn like there's no tomorrow and havent seen any coral nipping yet
