Creating a .psd file

I need to create a text icon that is saved into a .psd file. Does anybody have/know of a program that I can do this in?

Uhhh, don't you just type ".psd" after the file name?
Nope. That is like saying "if you change the emblem on your hummer, it will be an efficient prius".
extensions indicate (for lack of better word) the format of the data in the file.

I used to have a bunch of copy for MAC but not any more. If you need one for PC, LMK. I don't have the latest one but it works ..

If I tell you what I need can you create it for me? It is just a watermark to put in my photos for my website to lable them.

I just need my name in a decent looking font, in say a 12, 14, and 18 size font.

Let me know. Sounds like something that can be whipped up in about 30 seconds in Photoshop.

Don't you want a PNG file? A PSD file is opnly viewable using Photoshop.

Thanks all I downloaded a copy of photoshop cs4 from adobe.
worked out well.
