Don't trust cheap flimsy 3 prong cables

Cheap Chinese cable good thing I was splicing this cable top a two prong cable and putting on some water proofing to extend the plug in my stand.

Nah the ground wire is usually on gauge higher, so not as expensive

Not to big of a issue, the white or neutral wire ends up on the same ground bus as your ground wire in the electrical panel. The ground is just extra protection.

Yeah but current normally flows through a neutral wire, it only flows through the ground if something is wrong. Pretty big distinction

Wow! I have been buying all my cables from monoprice.com which are Chinese imports. I may have to re-think this.

Almost all good or bad cables are Chinese imports.
Monoprice is not so bad. As long as it says 3 conductor, it most likely is.
If you are worried, check with an ohm-meter.
