Don't trust cheap flimsy 3 prong cables

Cheap Chinese cable good thing I was splicing this cable top a two prong cable and putting on some water proofing to extend the plug in my stand.

Exactly, look how many 3 prong plugs have the ground snipped off because it's easier than replacing the 2 prong outlets!

Wait is that mostly people from my uncle's generation?

The ground allows any short to go straight instead of through your body. That's all :)

Not to big of a issue, the white or neutral wire ends up on the same ground bus as your ground wire in the electrical panel. The ground is just extra protection.

Yeah but current normally flows through a neutral wire, it only flows through the ground if something is wrong. Pretty big distinction

Reason the ground wire is there for shit going wrong.

Almost all good or bad cables are Chinese imports.
Monoprice is not so bad. As long as it says 3 conductor, it most likely is.
If you are worried, check with an ohm-meter.
