Hey guys so i was given a hand me down xr30 Gen 2 with no mount. I know there is a mount online on their website that i can purchase. However was wondering if anyone has made their own or is it worth just buying? Also is the light worth using or just buy a new light?

It's an older light but still a good one. You can use gen5/6 mounts for it.

2 years ago I had a 1st gen over my 40 gallon and it was great.

Im glad to hear some people still use it. Im really unfamiliar with the light settings. I know the application is a headache. I still need to research more on how to set it and what to set it at.

Not sure if it's available on the Gen 2's, but - if available - AB+ is a great starting point for it.
