Intro
Welcome to my reef tank journey! It all began when I was 18, just after moving out of my parents’ house. I rented an apartment in San Mateo, conveniently located across from a fantastic local fish store called FISH FOR YOU, in San Mateo. My first saltwater tank was a simple setup, primarily dedicated to fish, but it ignited a passion within me. Fast forward to when I was 25, I decided to upgrade to a 150-gallon tank, which initially housed mostly fish but soon welcomed a few affordable corals into the mix. This journey has been one of growth and discovery, as I continue to expand my knowledge and appreciation for the vibrant world of reef aquariums. I took a break from the hobby to focus on my kids and work. I knew that eventually I will be back into the hobby. I just needed to have extra money to waste lol
Nine years ago, I made the bold move to Hayward, and I knew it was time to jump back into the hobby. I explored a few local fish stores in Union City and Hayward, hoping to find aquatic treasures. That’s when I met Michael, a fellow hobbyist and bar president. known as ENDERTURTLE. He casually mentioned he was quitting the hobby, and just like that, my heart raced was it fate or a fishy trap? He offered me a package deal for most of his livestock and equipment that was too good to refuse. It felt like winning the lottery, but instead of cash, I got a tank full of fish and a second chance to dive back into this wild, watery world. ENDERTURLE helped me setup everything since technology changed so much. I had no idea what an Apex was lol
I took a break from the hobby because I don’t like hayward and wanted to move back to San Mateo. Well house prices in the peninsula went up and I refuse to pay over 2M for an old house. So we stayed in hayward hoping the house market goes down lol. It was a small break. It only lasted 11 months. I took my family to Hawaii and saw all the yellow tangs and got pulled back into the hobby. My second night in Hawaii I already had a full shopping cart on Bulkreefsupply. And here I am. My build is nearly complete,
I know many of you know I collect Og bounces. (non available)
