I have a pair of young occelaris clowns in my IM 25. Three times in the last week the smaller of the two has found his way through the overflow weir into the rear compartment. Each time has been at night shortly after lights out. It’s quite a pain to get him out as the compartment is very narrow.
The clowns haven’t shown any signs of aggression, so I don’t think one is trying to get away from the other. As soon as I pick him out and get him back in the display he pairs right back up with the other.
I was thinking about putting mesh over the weir teeth but I think that would reduce the effectiveness of the surface skimming.
Sooner or later they’ll be too big to fit through this gap, but is there anything I can do in the meantime? Does this imply anything about my flow being too high that it is even possible for it to happen?
