Free 150 gallon tub/Cardinal flower

Free 150 gallon Rubbermaid tub. Used it as an outdoor carnivorous plant bog for awhile, but I moved all my plants indoors. Still has some mud in the bottom that I’ll rinse out. I also have some cardinal flower starters that I accidentally propagated if anyone wants some. Pickup in Novato near San Marin High School.

@Jakeller
Ya got any pics of the tub with the carnivorous plants?
Unfortunately I don’t. It was mostly sarracenia and cobra lilies with some cardinal flower, bog orchids, bog buttons and ferns. My landlord sent some guys to work on my back patio over the winter and they thought it was an empty planter because everything was dormant and decided to walk through it even though there was a water feature in it. Didn’t feel like rebuilding so I moved moved things inside

Assholes!!
That’s a bummer

I’ll snag that if still available, make for an awesome Carlson surge device add on!
Nice!!!
Did you get a bigger sump to handle the 150g surge? Curious what size plumbing on the outflow surge side your thinking..I’d think a 55g barrel with lid takes up alot less space plus may work easier especially elevating it 6-8 feet. Looking forward to see another welding operation performance on this one!

So what I’m thinking is link the tubs together ( I have a 100 gallon tub for sump) to handle the surge volume. I’ve got a 55 gallon barrel I’m thinking about using, 2” outlet that split into 2- 1.5” both left and right of the tank. If all works well I was even thinking taking two 55 gallon barrels and alternating them but I want to see how well the system reacts to one surge at a time.

I built a ton of surge tanks in my day. You'll be amazed at how fast they overwhelm plumbing. We had to use 4ea 2" pipe to connect our sumps together to handle it. We had a 55 drum flowing into a series of macro bins 9wholesale facility).

Are you doing the carlson surge?

So this would basically eliminate power heads and wave pumps in tank? Sounds great

Correct, check out any tour on YouTube for ORA. They don’t have a single powerhead in the farm. Every raceway has a Carlson surge at both ends. Next week when I have time I’m gonna start playing with the set up and see if I can’t flood my garage lol.
