Free to a Good Home – Red Sea Reefer 525XL (Needs Resealing)

Unfortunately, the front corner seal on my 4-year-old Red Sea Reefer 525XL failed last week, resulting in about 30 gallons of water spilling onto my hardwood floors. The tank is no longer usable in its current state and would require resealing or repurposing.

Rather than disposing of it, I’d love to see it go to someone who wants a project tank or can use the components. I’m offering the bundle for free to anyone who’s interested and can pick it up:

• Red Sea Reefer 525XL tank (needs reseal)
• Original stand (white, in good condition)
• Stock sump with all Red Sea plumbing
• Return pump (works fine)
• Red Sea ReefMat 500 with two unused rolls

All components are yours to keep—just bring a truck and some moving help. I am looking for someone who will take the whole package. If I am unsuccessful, I will sell the components separately along with lights, skimmer, and other equipment.

Located in Redwood City. Preference goes to an established BAR member who will put it to good use. Happy to answer questions or share photos of the tank and equipment. I have attached a picture from its prime.

We’re Red Sea 525 XL seam failure buddies now! Mine was briefly a bioactive Dart frog tank before I broke it down and got rid of it.

Hopefully, I can find a second life for my tank as well. I hate to throw it out.

My main concern now is dealing with the water damage that has been caused.
