Just want to introduce myself,

Back from a 15+ year break from reef tanks. Now with young kids(4 and 2), I decided it was time to introduce them to the underwater world of reef keeping!

A huge shout out to @ Susan Edwards for helping us get going with a Red Sea Max E-170. A good cleaning, new seals for the sump bulkhead, and water test is all it took to get going. We’ve 3d printed some rear sump baskets, random flow generator, and some cable management stuff

Currently the tank is cycling with just some Live Rock. Water test kit just arrived so we will continue to test. I’m open to any and all suggestions to remain successful. Lucky to have found this community!

@Susan Edwards thanks for helping them get started!

@ReefDad86 things haven't changed too much from back then as the old techniques still work so feel free to ask here about anything newer that might seem more like marketing! Where are you located? Hopefully we'll get to see you at the next club event.

Welcome! My dad took me to California Academy of Sciences and Monterey Bay aquarium all the time as a kid. Those are core memories, make sure you take your kids there too if possible

@tribbitt - we’ve taken the kids to the Monterey Bay aquarium and was actually just discussing with the wife to visit the Cal Academy of science.

@Darkxerox - I’m Located in Brentwood. My favorite addition so far is the ATO with 5 gallons of RO down below!

Once I get one of those phone lens filters, I’ll be sure to post of pic of the setup. The kids nearly lost it this morning when they found a small starfish wandering on rock!
