This site looks amazing… what I’ve been missing!

I was at Neptune Aquatics this weekend and the guy helping me select a couple of frags (Arnold?) mentioned I should come here. I’m glad I did.

I have just one tank now, an IM Fusion Pro 2 | 40L AIO. I recently finished recovering from an unfortunate crash, but things are stable now.

I have so many questions and haven’t sought out an opportunity to join a community like this.

We used to have Larry in Monterey who knew A LOT and ran the LFS. He moved, so I’ve been going at this with zero guidance… haha.

Also, life recently threw me a curveball about 6 months ago that most people would consider bad news. I’ve accepted it, and I have an entirely new perspective on what it means to live. The tank and its inhabitants have been a major focus for me. I moved the tank to my office at work, where I spend ~10 hrs a day, 5 days a week. Best decision ever!

***Example; this tiny 2 inch awesome looking poka dot panther grouper looks so cute in the store.

Fast foward this 2inch in fish grows to over 2 feet, and will eat anything that fits in its mouth. This fish would need a 300+ gallon tank for a adult***

Asking here would prevent possible mistakes like that lol.

A tank journal often contains pictures, equipment step up/ upgrades, coral and fish types, Out lines build proccess, problems and solutions, and parameters Testing results This can be as detailed as you desire to make it. Some like me probably give what seems like weekly updates while others give a yearly update. We all love seeing tank journal updates.

However a tank journal is the best way to get advice. As it gives others a opportunity to see your system and follow along with your progression, and gives and insight to your system to help with troubleshooting.

Welcome, I am originally from Salinas, so no Monterey well.

This group has been a great wealth of information ever since I got into Reefing a few months ago.
 
Thanks everyone. I already know good things will come of this. I'm going to get started on the Tank Journal. I've never done that and maybe that will point out the obvious problem to either myself or to the group. At this point, I think I'm just not 100% cycling. I'm close and most of the concerns like algae or no longer emergency...but something is off and its not like it was "before crash".

While I look at the journal, I did take a couple of pics this morning before/after sunrise which I've tried to attach.

Welcome to BAR! IM 40L AIO is a great tank. Dimensions are nice. I used to have one as well. I have a IM EXT50 for sale if you are interested in moving to a tank with a sump haha

Is that a auto water change contraption you made with that Wayne transfer pump? Have never seen one for a AIO tank. Tell us more about it in your Tank Journal.
