Hi, I have been reefing since 2005. I used to keep SPS tank with all kinds of equipment but after moving from Chicago to the Bay area, I had to focus more on my career and family.
The system is very simple without a sump, skimmer etc.

Tank - 40 breeder
Filteration - 3 X aqua clear 70 - with Ehaim SUBSTRAT pro - it removes NO3 very efficiently just rinse it once a month.
LED 1 - Current Orbit 36inch
LED 2 - Aquatic life 36inch
B Ionic 2 part -

Welcome! Is that a space invader chalice that looks like it is melting (not losing flesh, but growing down) on the right side of your tank? I really like your coral selection!

Thank you, Michael! The chalice is by far the fastest-growing coral in my tank.

Is that a red cynarina on the left sandbed?
What is in the back center with green tips? Nem? Euphyllia? Massive shroom?

Yes, it is a red Cynarina. I got it from Infinite Aquarium but they no longer carry saltwater stuff anymore.
It is the green tip toadstool in the back I grew from a 1" frag.

Those are great. Good job growing out the toadstool! I’d love to see closer photos sometime. Or.. I could switch from phone to desktop

A couple of pictures were taken today. Next challenge: algae on the sandbed. Been dosing Vibrant Cleaner for a few weeks now and the condition is slowly improving.

Took some pictures today. Will be replacing 2 of the 3 aquaclear HOB filter with Seachem 110 with self-priming feature. Repriming after coral feeding is not fun.

Some info on my 40br:
3 aquaclear 70
no sump or skimmer
Alk via kamoer x1
Top off via kamoer x1
Carbon + GFO in Aquaclear
1liter of eheim substrate in two aqua clear 70
Adding Mg powder when needed

Daily:
Manual dosing Ca
Feeding frozen food

Twice a week:
Test ALK

Weekly:
10-20% water change
Manual dosing trace element 5ml
Manual dosing Iodine 5ml
Manual dosing Vibrant Cleaner 5ml
Test Alk, CA, NO3, Mg
Feed Reefroid

Monthly:
Rinse coarse mechanical filter sponge
Rinse eheim substrate
