Mindstream at MACNA 2018?

Eh... they had a booth (or at least it was showing) at 2016 MACNA...
That said, I think they lost the steam they originally had, there are ALK testers on the market, Neptune has the Ca, Alk, Mg machine in the works, plus IIRC the Mindstream was quite pricey and had that "monthly subscription" thing for those little "chips" that do the measuring. But negativity aside having more options is not a bad thing.

I don't think they even started beta testing yet. Still in alpha stage last I heard.
They've had a booth at MACNA before and they have been giving out raffle prizes at shows. Which I think are free units when they become available.
As the years have gone by, I think they dropped the number of tests it will do. I think no more Nitrate and Phosphate testing.

Not usually.
What I am used to is Alpha = in-house, Beta = field (selected customers).
But there is no real solid definition, so marketing can say what they want.

There was a kickstarter for it, but IIRC it didn't reach the goal so presumably the money gets refunded to all.
I’ve never heard of that. Potassium is super common and just an element, like sodium. Your explanation sounds like phosphates/phosphorus.

No, I really mean potassium.
Supposedly it can cause bottom up RTN at low levels. Reef2reef has some posts on that.
I had an algae scrubber, and occasionally bottom up RTN, so was intruiged.
I bought a test kit, and K was super low. Long time ago, forget exactly.
I did add some. No sudden difference, but almost impossible to tell if you are getting fewer cases of RTN when
it is so random.
I stopped worrying about it once I added my auto-water-exchange system.
Is it real .... hard to say.
I am sure K matters at some level. But what level?? Don't know.
I guess an ICP test would say.
