My Neptune salinity probe died, is it worth replacing?

Had mine since 2017, but it’s been stuck reading “3” for a month despite cleaning. A new one is $209 — kind of crazy. I’ve got a Milwaukee handheld and never really relied on the Neptune probe, though it was nice to have. Thinking of just tossing it unless someone has a solid reason or story to convince me otherwise.

My immediate reaction is no - the only probe I am not interested in due to a lack of reliability and high cost.

However, yours was 8 years old, and 200 USD for 8 years' performance is an excellent deal - if this probe was reasonably accurate until a month ago? Was it?

Ya I think I got a “hero” probe, it was from my 2016 apex and sat dry for a year when I moved in 21, it’s been reasonable accurate, (33-35 ppt) still don’t trust it 100%. Last month it started reading 3ppt, i tried to clean it but alas it still reads 3ppt.
