overflow for a small tank

hey everyone,
has anyone here drilled and plumbed an aqueon 10 gallon to add into a pre-existing system? if so, how did u configure the overflow and return? i dont wanna go crazy and spend tons of a high end acrylic overflow just for a 10 gallon frag tank but im also worried about having a single strainer with the chances of flooding with no emergency drain.

Maybe just drill 2 holes, one for main and second for emergency. Have return go over the rim. No need for external box.

Those tanks have really thin glass that cracks easily, so don’t put any pressure when drilling.

ya that could work. im not too worried on drilling the tank itself, my first time drilling a tank was on 3mm glass lol turned that tank into swiss cheese without a crack or chip.... maybe it was beginners luck who knows:p
