Power Head for my 32 biocube

So in the near future I would like to replace the power head on my 32 gallon biocube. It works, but has no adjustable flow rate. I would like to get something that pulses or will mimic ocean currents. I might be asking for too much as I know the tank is only 32 gallons, and the flow from the return pump is pretty strong on it's own. And the main kicker though is I would like something under $300. It seems all the full featured power heads are $300 plus.

I have also been thinking of just installing an IM SpinStream

thoughts?

Sicce sdx. I have good experience with this. Can tolerate small slack in maintenance. Have build in temp sensor ( as backup ) .

Just a hair under $299 list price.

I had 3 Nero. All failed in less than 2 years. Never again,

MP10 if you can stomach the price.

Tunze has a line of small pumps that might work for you. I have a 6020 DC that has some of the adjustable flow features you mentioned. Cheap at around $65. I've had mine for 2.5 years.

I run a Jebao SOW-8 wavemaker on my tank (20 gallons). It was like 60 bucks, reliable and strong enough for my needs. You can point it around. Downside is there is a wire in the tank.

my current wave maker is either a Fluval or small Sicce, and there is a cord in the tank. So no worries there.

My wife is starting to accept that our reef tank has a couple cords showing and the skimmer cup is quite visible as it sticks up like sore thumb from the back of the tank.
