Rays in Long Beach…

This hobby truly brings out the geek in all of us. As I’m FaceTiming my kids by this waterway behind my hotel small (6-12”) rays appear out of nowhere and we’re just casually swimming about. I would have thought they were on warm water creatures - too much nature channel and PBS, I guess.

Fascinating… My kids now want to come to the Hyatt Regency Long Beach to see them. Maybe this summer…

Spotted round rays cool!! Our sf bay is full of several types of rays, skates and Guitar fish which get up to 5/ 6ft wingspan very common to sea in canals or shallow waters. it's really hard not to catch them tossing a pole out anywhere in the bay soaking squid or anchovies.
