Just purchased and setup my dream tank. The Red Sea S-650 175gallon system. Going to be a mixed reef with some odd unusual bits. Stay tuned!

My fish from my previous tank have finally settled and have never looked better! So far so good and no major issues. Encountered a plumbing leak and realized I was missing a seal which I was able to find at Home Depot. Lighting looks incredible and I slowly but surely stocking with fish. I picked up a clown pair this morning.

Looking good! What kind of puffers are you keeping?
I am currently keeping a porcupine puffer and stars and stripes puffer. Inverts are put of the question but they have been model citizens with my coral. However I am keeping a close eye on my porcupine because ever since the tank change he was been quite aggressive with his tank mates.

Stopped by aquatic collection for the first time yesterday to stock up on some fish. That place is amazing! I ended grabbing a baby boxfish, cowfish and blue eye tang. (I have plenty of experience with the boxfish species.) I also ended up grabbing a carpet nem for my maroon. Hopefully she likes it!

NIce start to your tank.
What's the secret to keeping box fish? What's the longest time you've kept a box fish alive?

There is no secret. Only thing ive learned is lots of heavy targeted feeding. They starve pretty quick so its best to feed them 3 times a day. My last boxfish i kept alive for about a year and a half before he passed. He passed due to starvation as I was on vacation and family messed up his feeding schedule. When it comes to the toxins ive never had a problem. Even when he passed his body was left in the tank for a few days and all of my fish survived.

So the puffer idea didnt go well. As soon as i did my tank transfer my porcupine turned completely evil. Eating my small fish and nipping at my big ones. Going to see if i can rehome him to a big fish only system. Same thing with my large purple tang. And large tangs/butterflys/angels that i try to introduce get bullied to death.
