UV sterilizer

I just put a UV on my 100 gallon that is rated for a 75 gallon tank. Is something better than nothing or am I just wasting electricity? I did just order an appropriately sized uv from Marine Depot for a pretty good deal.

Something is better than nothing. Some bacteria and or algae will flow through it and become sterile.

Makes sense that it would, if you are mostly doing it for stuff you can see like algae or bacteria.

It totally works. It gets the water nice and clear.

you can never go wrong with a uv. i run mine same reverse light schedule with my fuge light when main dt lights goes off. some runs it 24/7, but i run it maybe 14 hours.
