Varios vs Ecotech return pumps

Anyone with experience here and opinion. I use two return pumps, an Ectech L1 and a DC Current. D like to upgrade the DC Current to a better Pump.

My skimmer pump is a Varios and it has performed well over the year through all the abuse of chaeto caking inside.

I don't have any experience with the Ecotech, but VarioS has been what I've been using. PremiumAquatics has them for 30% off right now, best price I've ever seen on them (picked up a spare return).

The features I like are controllable with Apex and the auto shutoff float-switch. Both not 100% needed, but they work well that I've set them up.

Also, they are completely silent. 0 increase in decibels when on.

I run the VarioS-4 for my return and VarioS-2 for my reactor/chiller line.

I have the Ecotech Vectra M1 and L1. Both have been running flawlessly for over a year.
Im using the L1 as a return to the display and the M1 for my chiller and frag tank.
Both are super quiet and easy to calibrate/set up.
My only complaint is that they are unable to connect to my apex WXM.

Thanks for feedback. I looked at Premium Aquatics first thing this morning and they were out of stock. That is/was definitely good price.
