Im thinking about making a strut bar for my car out of raw stainless materials as a way to improve handling as well as learning how to wield. My friend as a MIG wielding machine. Would that be easy or hard for a beginning? Does anyone know a place in the Bay Area where there are steel shops that have many different products sort of like TAP plastics?
 
Actually, upon talking to the fabricators at work, they recommend:

With the addition of a place called Cal Steam for pipe and pipe fittings. Both are in the lovely Bayview/Hunter's Point area. You might call ahead and see which is better for non business accounts. These are second hand leads but I hope they get you started.
