Lately I've noticed in this "economic downturn" many of the more local grocers, even the high end ones, are leaving out of date items on the shelf to try and squeeze out a buck or two. Most of these items IME being cheese or cured meats (because I like them 
), not cool, I've never had food born illness even when eating street food out of dirty coolers in Central America and I don't plan on getting it here in the states where we have an incredibly safe food supply.
