Neptune Aquatics

coral ID please

the main body is almost white, with yellow polyps and then the purple tips, what about the odd shape on the tip? Ive never seen anything shaped like this before, maybe the tips were growing at the surface of the water which caused the coral to flatten out???? I dont know

It looks like something inhibited calcification then the coral grew around the muffed tip.

I agree with Bryan BTW, it looks like a valida.

My leviathan green slimer (it just grows all over the damn place) did something like that when it reached the bottom of my efflo, it simply flattened out, I don't know if it's because the efflo kicked it in the kahones or if it decided to try to mold to that shape.

Either way wait for it to grow out a bit and it might give more insight to what type of coral it might be.

there were 5 or 6 pieces were I got this one and each one had at least one tip shaped like that, I have some more I need to ID but I will wait till next week I got to ge things ready for tomorrow

thanks
