image.jpg Ok all, I've got 2 frags of this Toadstool. This is NOT a Tyree Green polyp toadstool. (although I do have those as well) I would be willing to give a Tyree or Jason Fox toadstool whichever you prefer. I have been fragging the Tyree toadstool for many years. Here is a RC archive on when i started spreading this coral around. I'm probably a small reason the green toadstool is so abundant around the Bay Area.

So here it is, recently a friend of mine passed on this coral to me. And, I could not help myself but to frag it like old times. The Lineage of this Toadstool goes back to Jason Fox website.

There is a noticeable difference between the Tyree and Jason Fox. The J. Fox has a brighter green appearance. The entire polyp and stem coming from the top of the cap is bright green. The Tyree only has a green polyp w/ a tan stem. This Toadstools color resembles the "Japanese green toadstool" but is not a slow grower like the Japanese version.

    DBTC Rules
    1. I use "DBTC" as a backup in case my coral dies.
      1. This means you give me a frag(when extras are available) if mine dies.
      2. My goal is to have a backup, NOT to pass around free coral to everyone.
      3. When you have frags available, add them to this DBTC so we can get more people to have this coral so we can all have backups.
    2. Must have established tank.
    3. Cannot SELL this coral until you've given away 1 frag of this to someone in this DBTC .
      • This is an honor based system. I (and this club) will remember to not give you any future frags if you break this condition.
    4. Keep me updated if this thing dies

That's a cool coral. Let me do some looking at its care and see if it will thrive in my tank.

I got my frag from muhli. Its doing great.

When googling for more info, it is more commonly reffered to as "tyree toadstool"

Its a toadstool coral, a soft coral. Its foot will encrust/attach to the structure. Low to medium light is good.

Highly recommend it as a beginner coral. Even with my snobby coral tastes, I still very much enjoy this toadstool in @Ahruk 's tank.

Ooo I would love a frag of this! Where are you located at, and will you be attending tomorrow's BAR event?

I live in San Leandro very close to Aquatic collection. I may be stopping by the photo class tomorrow to meet up with another member. But that is not confirmed yet.

Not sure if it is fully claimed yet, but I'd be interested in a green toad stool. I will be at the photo class tomorrow. Thanks!

If you get anymore of that one or your Tyree, I'd be interested. Enderturtle was talking it up at the event.
