Diamond Blade Band Saw

Several others have purchase this particular saw [see the infamous Ian saw] and I decided to bite the bullet and get one for myself. If you haven't seen it in action it makes fragging LPS and cutting discs of live rock a breeze as it allows for some pretty intricate cuts.

I found this site that has the saw and several of the accessories that come with it. The particular model is the DB-100. This is about the cheapest price I have seen on-line for it.

The transaction has gone smooth so far. Will post an update when I get the actual product (which I am hoping to be this week).

You can also get it here, Bryan. I think cheaper too! hehe

Man I would have loved one of those bandsaws when I was cutting tile for my bathroom, sure I got a wet diamond saw, but damnit if I didn't have to change my shirt often due to the rooster tail of water that was shot up from it.

I'd be up for one as well. Even the online one at $187 looks like it'd do the job- coral fragging + other non-reef uses. It's gotta be safer that using the dremel which inevitably has to be real close to your fingers and can 'jump'.

I can tell Bryan, very cool! I have a favia and an acan that need some fragging, maybe I could swing by sometime and we could do it?

Anyone want to loan me one for a day of two so I can see if i really want to pick it up? I currently use a tile saw but this one looks very nice (and I've seen it at TONS of places around the US in use...just never tried it myself)>

Sounds good. I have two perfect candidates for it and your welcome to frags of each. One is a super nice porites and the other is some Atlantic coral I forgot the name of that isn't super purdy/colorful but it's a coral we don't normally see or get around here :)
