Emerald Crab eating my Cyphastrea?

In my tank journal I thought fluctuating alk may have been decimating patches of my beautiful Cyphastrea.

I just happened by my tank now and saw this:

What do the experts think? Emerald Crab munching my Cyphastrea to death?

I’ve had a few emerald crabs, and to me, it looks like yours is just it looking around for food. They kind of taste with their claws. When they find something tasty, they’ll pull and twist away at it to pull off a chunk to eat, and go back for more.

Never trust a crab.
Check the area where you saw this tomorrow and see if it looks damaged.
