I saw this special on the science channel about jellyfish and they were talking about a specific protein they have isolated from jellies which the use to make the lights they make....It seems people overseas have taken this and introduced it to many other species causing them to "glow"...

anyone want to isolate this protein and turn some brown palys into some LE's? :D Norm? Jeremy?

Glowfish(tm) have been around for nearly a decade guys :D They are banned in CA in fact :) And despite the claims they are non fertile many have bred them successfully!!!

Probably one of the reasons they're banned in CA

CA banned them even before they hit the US. It was a rather quick bit of leg work on their part :) It was like over night. I saw the first ad, the next day or so I saw notice of the ban

Funny thing about glowing fish...it would be equivalent to having glowing hamburgers scattered around the street, they wouldn't last long with hungry predators around...

Hungry aquarists is another issue.
