Mindstream monitoring system

I was looking around a bit for improved monitoring, and noticed a very interesting system.

It can check pH, dKH, ammonia, NO2, NO3, Ca, Mg, salinity, oxygen, and temperature.
Very cool.
But it has been a year now since that article, and not much new on their facebook site.

Anyone have any more info on this??

I remember reading about that a while back... my first thought was "it sounds too good to be true, so prove me wrong" so far they haven't. Also my biggest concern (beside whether or not it works) would be how much replacement testing discs (or whatever they use) would cost.

I was all excited about it when I first read the AA article. I fear it's turning into vaporware. Hope I'm wrong.

I hate testing and would love to see something like this work. I've already got pH and temp but would love to have constant monitoring of Alk. Tying that to dosing would be REAL COOL!

I wonder if there is a lab grade device that would do the same thing. Maybe a spectrometer? If such a lab grade device existed then its _possible_ this is a scaled down less accurate version of that. Still on the skepticism train though.

I'm sure you could use a mass-spec and get the desired outcome, maybe not in real time, and possibly for a few more bucks but sure

Oh man, there would be something inherently awesome about having a mass spectrometer at home... Just to test fish tank water. HEhe. It appeals to the over-kill side of me.
