I have just bought this from an LFS in San Jose. Does anyone know what spiny things are coming out of this? Thank you.

Thank you @Coral reefer and @Srt4eric. I am not long in the hobby but this was my assumption too. I just could not believe they sold me a vermited snail-infested frag.
