New or used tripod recommendations

Hey guys,

I need a tripod for pics around the house of family, orchids, and my tank. It will be used for my D50 and also for my small video camera. This tripod won't travel and I'm willing to buy up later if my needs change. So, if you were going to spend less that $100 on a tripod, new or used, what would you recommend?

if less than $100, a nice cheapo from target or something works well. If it doesn't need to go through rigorous wear and tear, just do that. It does the job... given there's no wind and other elements.

Also make sure it reaches high enough... if doing macros with an el cheapo, it may shake a bit.

That's what I would do.

There's also those SLIK tripods that are pretty darn cheap and solid enough to do the job around the house.

Otherwise I'd suggest going to the $300'ish mark with a CF tripod from benbo or feisol etc. for the long term sake.
