RECALL: Marineland 150W "Stealth Pro" Shatter Proof HEATER

Just got this e mail last week and after calling Fosters and Smith they sent me a prepaid return Label and immediate credit / refund back to my account. Here is a list of them: Hope you don't have one of these; but I would purchase another one when Hagen comes up with a solution to the matter (though not sure what the defect is as I hadn't put it in the fresh water tank upstairs yet.

Dear JOEL,

We're contacting you with important news about your Marineland Stealth PRO Heater. Marineland is investigating quality issues involving the Stealth PRO Submersible Heater line, and out of an abundance of caution, they have stopped selling 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 watt models. If you have questions about this stop sale or to return these heaters under your Marineland warrantees, please call Marineland Customer Service at 800-338-4896.

Please stop using it immediately and take the following steps:

Unplug the heater from the wall to stop the flow of electricity
Let the heater cool for 15 minutes
Remove the heater from the tank
As a valued customer, your satisfaction is our priority and we would like to offer a replacement or refund for the heater you purchased from us.
Our team of Aquatic Specialists recommends the Marineland Visi-Therm Heaters or Fluval M Submersible Heaters as appropriate substitutes

Please contact Foster & Smith Aquatics Customer Service at 1-800-443-1160 at your earliest convenience to arrange the proper return and exchange/refund of your Marineland Stealth PRO Submersible Heater.

....The important question: which restaurants did you eat at in SFe? :p

We ate at Maria's a few times, and the 2nd generation of "The Shed," "La Choza," behind the rail line. Both were pretty good, had some long lines, but La Choza had weak margaritas and not so great service. I don't think they have earned the reputation that their original ("The Shed") location gets. Maria's makes killer strong margaritas (like 50 different kinds too). Living in the Bay Area has definitely ruined me and makes my standards seem unreasonable at times. But that fellow at Maria's (has been there forever) really knows his stuff; and how to take care of his customers too. He kept us coming back for the food and drink. I think his name is Steve??? If you eat there, you probably know whom I'm talking about (former new yorker). All the locals seem to eat there. It's great. Almost forgot about "Clafoutis French Bakery" too. We loved them a lot too.

While there is no shortage of great and expensive places to eat in the downtown area, I would not ever go back to famed "La Fonda Hotel." They were venting their sewage lines up through their Roof Top drinking and outdoor restaurant, but I experienced the stench as soon I entered their outdoor patio area. Nice sunsets to be had from there, but we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. That about wraps up Santa Fe, but REALLY LOVED the restaurant at Ojo Caliente Hot Springs too: I think they call it Ventana. Worth the 1/2 hour drive from Santa Fe. I'd eat there every night if I could. Don't forget to soak at the springs, get the cheap gas on the Res and pick up some inexpensive Fireworks too.

Forgot to mention watch out for the speed trap on the way back to Santa Fe from Ojo Caliente Springs too. There was a cop car hanging out in the middle of the triangle (at night) off the main road out of the Hot spring area and making the left to pick up the highway back to Santa Fe (probably TMI too much information). Glad I drive within the limits when I'm in a new location, as I saw the N.M. State Troopers catch a lot of folks going >90 on the main highway into ABQ - Albuquerque. looks like they have a field day out there.

Lastly, we really loved staying at the new View Hotel in M.V.. Totally awesome - took the Native Guided tour through M.V. and Mystery Valley too. Their restaurant is very good, I recommend the Navajo tea. Picked locally and I found it very soothing.

There was a good Moroccan restaurant - "Pyramid Cafe" that gave us tons of great tasting food for next to nothing, and all they wanted was to please us. They had a good crowd while it was pouring down rain outside one evening.

Got to send a shout out to Bandelier Natl Monument too.

Lastly, You must check out :glasses: the Tamales at the little family run restaurant "Leona's in Chimayo outside the church that has the "Holy Dirt / Pocito Room." They may have odd hours, so you'll want to plan accordingly.

Wow, my first restaurant review! Got to run. Hope you're enjoying the area as much as we did on our visit....

Keep on posting. Glad you're still on the boards. 0:)

Looks like I bumped / hijacked my own thread.
