Running flow through chiller when it's off?

To simplify things in my sump, I'm considering running a manifold and hooking my chiller and two reactors to it. However, the chiller wouldn't be on 24/7. Minus the loss in head pressure, would there be any issue in running water through the chiller when the compressor isn't engaged?

No. In fact you want it running through. That's how it reads the temp and knows to turn on.

It's an older chiller that doesn't have a built-in temperature controller. But that's good to know; thanks!

Ahh OK. But ya, you still don't want stagnant water sitting in the chiller and then pumped into your system when it kicks on.
