The fine print

For years I have been using Scotch-Brite sponges for miscellaneous cleaning of tank equipment.

Today I read the fine print on the back. It appears they have added a specific warning for aquarium use to the fine print instructions on the back:

I will probably continue to use the sponges for cleaning equipment out of the tank as I always rinse in RO water before returning anything to the tank but I will no longer be using these sponges for cleaning anything while it is still in the tank or sump such as the inside of my skimmer or sump walls.

And now you know too....

Plastic and aquarium safe sponge recommendations welcome. I currently use Magic Eraser melamine sponges which are aquarium safe on glass surfaces but have avoided using them on plastic of any kind.

+1 on Dobie! The white exterior is the same as the algae sock that Mighty Magnets sells, and it's much cheaper to just pull it off the Dobie!
