What chemistry questions would you like to ask June's speaker Craig Bingman ?

Craig posted a survey on the Bay Area Reefers Facebook group page. Please feel free to fill it out.

Is the solution to pollution dilution?

Of course not. The solution to pollution is to limit the pollution production. Dilution is simply a mask and a Sesame Street solution.

Never heard of the "Sesame Street solution"...gotta ask Craig about that one. :D

I was wondering if he could say a few things about Kalkwasser + Vinegar pros/cons.
I have read a lot on both sides, but so many opinions.
Like:
It is great for improving solubility.
The organic carbon helps nitrate reduction like vodka dosing, but can cause big problems as well, like vodka dosing.
The vinegar turns it into Calcium Acetate, which wipes out the buffering and ends up defeating the purpose.
It reduces issue with reactions with CO2 in atmosphere and sealing reactor.
Are those true/false/unknown?

Not sure if this is related to his version of chemistry, but I'd ask if you could dump two/three part solution (separately of course) into fresh water in large amounts, and simply stir it like you would in a kalkwasser reactor so that the dosage is always at maximum strength and no need for measuring as long as it's churned up.

My questions are about Alkalinity; it's importance, what signs do corals show it if it's low or high and is there a problem if it consistently high, like around 11 dKh.

Nutrient reduction strategies. Effects of refugium (macro algae) on chemistry. Are they taking up other things besides nitrate and phosphate in meaningful amounts? Is the a risk to having "too much" macro? Alternative ways of nutrient reduction?
Whatever tales he likes to tell and info about his expertise.
