Almost Vacuumed Goby!!

I love diamond gobies but they don't love me! I was vucuuming the rug around the tank just now and saw my goby on the floor - thought it was dead at first but saw its tail move so I put it back in the tank. I have no idea how long it was out of the tank. I just purchased him last weekend and he started eating and sifting right away.

I always like having a goby in my tank as I love to watch them sift and think they have great personalities but I haven't been able to keep them for years like my other fish. I have a covered tank but they seem to manage to find the small gap where the tubes go in and out of my tank and jump out or just disappear.

I sure hope he makes it!! I'm glad I wasn't lazy this morning - I could have easily skipped vacuuming today!!

Glad he's OK! Jills clownfish jumped out of her tank. Luckily she was in the room when he decided to do it.

But yeah diamond gobys are notorious for jumping out of tanks!
 
Ugh, that really sucks :-/

Hopefully, if you found him quickly he will be OK. They can survive and jump and some air exposure if it's only for a minute or two.
