Our mission

Chromis’s 90g Acropora tank

I think the tuxedo urchins only come in blue and red. I liked my long spine urchin though. I don’t think they clean as well but they don’t pick up everything.

The food at the BAR meetings has been pretty good. But I was thinking about how we recently discovered that our kids’ nanny was also feeding the fish. Then I realized why my fish were swimming around in such a peaceful stupor lately.

If you believe the reef interweb stories the blue and red tuxedo urchins have different culinary preferences. I just think the red one is more striking. Live aquaria has super cute tiny-sized ones once in a while (like 1.5cm). Here are their current offerings:

How much and what was the nanny feeding?

The die off from the lights being stuck on for 3 days finally ended, but it claimed all 3 blue acros and two HWs. The alk had been unstable as a result and it’s been a pain to stabilize.

Anyway, focusing on all the acros that didn’t die :) :

...I tell myself, hey I do have one greener Acropora in my tank. Aussie highlighter:

I keep thinking I should frag this orange digitata before it’s totally taken over by palys, but then I kind of want to wait and see what happens...

But I’m thinking about cutting a branch off the red planet just because it’s shading the bubblegum digi too much :)

I wish! Goes to show that having the same type of coral in two or three places in one tank doesn’t beat having the same coral in different tanks.

Just caught up on your light issue. Sorry you lost corals.

I'm nervous about kessil software too. Even their controller made me worry. I just bought two kessils and went with the old ones because they work with the apex and don't have their own software to mess up.

Well, mine is slowly growing. If and when it gets to a point where it looks more happy, I would be glad to frag you a replacement. Just don’t know how long it will be...

That's gotta hurt a bit; I'm keeping a watchful eye on the WD, slowly growing onto the frag plug and I'd be bummed if I loose it.
Sometimes I want to pull the trigger on a HW and have someone grow it out and pass it but is more of a Finances Wrecker than a Home Wrecker in reality for me.

BTW, anathema has more frags available of that blue acro you lost; some of those cleaning-the-tank-accidental-frags
I'm sure he'll be more than happy to get you one. I'll be at the CFM and he lives very close to my place; don't mind at all bringing it for you

Adding my Aquabiomics test results.
