That’s the best angel I could get. To be honest, how it looks in the picture is pretty accurate to real life. It is extremely shallow. I’m not sure if it’s even considered a crack or a scratchHow deep is it? Maybe see if u can get pics from different angles and a close up one.
It doesn't look horrible from the one picture. Yet I'm not sure if silicone would be be appropriate or not. Maybe others may have a better idea.
@Turkeysammich
I think scratch but u mentioned crack why I asked for more pictures/ hiw deep. Maybe put small peice of tape to side of it and make mark with marker how long it is. To have something to compare to. Cracks can get larger or deeper over time. Scratches are just a eye sore.That’s the best angel I could get. To be honest, how it looks in the picture is pretty accurate to real life. Yes, there is the tiny chip with it that leads to the crack. I would say even more shallow than 1/8” deep. The chip is the only reason I even noticed it being a crack and not a scratchIt’s really hard to see on my phone cuz it’s a little blurry. I could be wrong but it looks like a knife scratched it. The first part near the silicone looks like it’s a little chipped. Then as it continues on its turns into it being sharp.
If that’s correct. The next question would be. How deep is it ? If it’s not a 1/8” deep. I would mark it and see if it grows. But honestly it’s probably not worth worrying about.
Silicone will not bond to silicone when one is dry.
Well. People have run huge chips on the corner of their aquariums for years and years without any problems.Yes, there is the tiny chip with it that leads to the crack. I would say even more shallow than 1/8” deep. The chip is the only reason I even noticed it being a crack and not a scratch
I’m glad to hear that from you, since it was also what I was assuming. I took your advice and put a piece of tape next to it and used a sharpie to mark the exact length. I will track it and if anything changes, then I’ll take some sort of action. Maybe I can sway Fiji cube to send me a new tank since this one is about 60 days oldWell. In this case. I wouldn’t do anything. Except take note, log crack progress, then act if it grows. Is it gonna burst ? Probably not. It would be surprising if it did. I would be surprised if the cracked even grows. But since you noticed it. Track it.
